Milan, 30th May 2019 – Engines are warming up for the Grand Road Venezia – Monte Carlo. The exclusive motoring event, reserved for modern supercars of all brands built between 1982 and 2019 and organized by the Scuderia Mantova Corse, will run from 30th May to 2nd June 2019. An exciting 1000 km journey from Venice to Monte Carlo, along a breath-taking journey through places of incomparable beauty of northern Italy and exclusive location full of charm, with a final foray into French land, crowned by the arrival in the Principality of Monaco. During the event there will be Alfa Romeo cars, the most exciting in the world.

At its zero edition, the event presents itself on the international motoring scene as an experimental tourist competition with a totally innovative format and an exquisitely chic allure. The Grand Road aspires to become over time the reference point for the large network of sports car enthusiasts, GT, creating a social occasion with a high convivial, tourist and sporting value. The adrenaline rush of the competition will not be missing: the crews will in fact have the unique opportunity to test the performance of their “racing cars” in two temples of international motoring, the Autodromo di Monza and the FCA Proving Ground inside the Balocco Circuit (VC).

Tomorrow, Friday May 31st, after the day of technical and sporting checks, the kermesse will come to life: the crews will leave from the Serenissima to reach Como. A first section of 400 km between the Alps and the lakes of Northern Italy, strengthened by the lunch break at Castel Ivano in Trento, a majestic medieval noble residence. The cars will then continue towards the Adamello Natural Park and the Tonale Pass, to arrive at the end of the day on the shores of the enchanting Lake Como. The evening will take place at the wonderful panoramic terrace of the Hilton Como Lake Hotel.

On Saturday 1st June the cars will face the second 300 km stage along the Como-Turin route. In the morning, the crews will compete on the track of the National Autodrome of Monza, a place of worship of speed, where they will be able to better test driving skills and the performance of their vehicles. The cars will then continue towards the Lake Maggiore where they will stop for the lunch break in the magical liberty environments of the noble Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées. The event will continue flanking the Lake Orta, with a stop in Omegna, to arrive then in Turin in the Lingotto complex in the late afternoon, where a special soirée dedicated to the automotive passion will take place at the “Formula Hall” of the Automobile Museum.

On the third and last day of the competition, Sunday 2nd June, the itinerary will develop between Turin and the Principality of Monaco, along a 280 km route between the Italian-French Alps. The lunch will be organized at Vinadio, at the Forte Albertino, one of the most significant examples of nineteenth – century military architecture. The cars will descend into French soil through Col de la Lombarde. The event will end in one of the symbolic places of the international jet set, Monte Carlo, with a parade of the cars in the Place du Casino, a prestigious and charming location. The Gala Dinner, during which the award ceremony will be held, will take place in the impressive Salon sur Mer of the Fairmont Hotel.
