06/01/2019
Milan, June 1 st 2019 - After the first challenging stage of 400 km between the Alps and the lakes of Northern Italy, Grand Road Venezia-Montecarlo is really getting going. The crews left this morning Como Lake towards Autodromo di Monza. Grand Road Italia Venezia-Montecarlo is the exclusive motoring event dedicated to modern supercars of all brands built between 1982 and 2019 and organized by Scuderia Mantova Corse. An
exciting 1000 km journey from Venice to Monte Carlo
, along a breath-taking journey through places of incomparable beauty of northern Italy and exclusive location full of charm, with a final foray into French land, crowned by the arrival in the Principality of Monaco. During the event there will be
Alfa Romeo
cars, the most exciting in the world.
At its zero edition, the event presents itself on the international motoring scene as an experimental tourist competition with
a totally innovative format and an exquisitely chic allure
. The Grand Road aspires to become over time the reference point for the large network of sports car enthusiasts, GT, creating a social occasion with a high convivial, tourist and sporting value. The
adrenaline rush of the competition
will not be missing: the crews will in fact have the unique opportunity to test the performance of their “racing cars” in two temples of international motoring, the
Autodromo di Monza
and the
FCA Proving Ground inside the Balocco Circuit (VC).
“After so many years in the historic motoring world as organizers of the Gran Premio Nuvolari, we decided to bring into existence a product that would give the opportunity to owners of modern supercars to enjoy the potential and comfort of their cars and, at the same time, of the beauties of the Italian territory, all in a setting of hospitality of the highest level.” - comment the creators of the Grand Road: Claudio Rossi, Luca Bergamaschi and Marco Marani.
Today the cars will face the second 280 km stage along the Como-Turin route. In the morning, the crews competed on the track of the National Autodrome of Monza, a place of worship of speed, where they were able to better test driving skills and the performance of their vehicles. The cars then continued towards the Lake Maggiore for the lunch break in the magical liberty environments of the noble
Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées
. The event will continue flanking the Lake Orta, with a stop in Omegna, to arrive then in Turin in the Lingotto complex in the late afternoon, where a special soirée dedicated to the automotive passion will take place at the “
Formula Hall” of the Automobile Museum
.
On the third and last day of the competition,
Sunday 2 nd June
, the itinerary will develop between Turin and the Principality of Monaco, along a 280 km route between the Italian-French Alps. The lunch will be organized at Vinadio, at the Forte Albertino, one of the most significant examples of nineteenth - century military architecture. The cars will descend into French soil through Col de la Lombarde. The event will end in one of the symbolic places of the international jet set, Monte Carlo, with a parade of the cars in the Place du Casino, a prestigious and charming location. The Gala Dinner, during which the award ceremony will be held, will take place in the impressive
Salon sur Mer
of the
Fairmont Hotel.
